in September 2022 we started the fifteenth season of swimming in our Club. The premises, located in a private house in Prague 6, were built in 2007 for the needs of infant swimming and in July 2022, were newly renovated. There is a well-equipped reception and a 4×7 metre pool with a depth of 130cm and a saltwater temperature of 31 degrees for larger and smaller clients. There is a café for you parents and a playroom for your little ones, which can be used for the necessary acclimatization of the children before and after swimming. The playroom can be used for an unlimited period of time, free of charge. Strollers can be parked by members outside the entrance to the Club itself. This is a stroller „parking lot“ on the Club property. It is also possible to borrow a free lock at reception to strap your buggy in if you have just forgotten yours at home.
At Bublinka we place great emphasis on a personal approach and a family atmosphere. We want and strive to make you feel comfortable and pleasant and to „switch off“ from everyday worries and obligations at least for a while. All of our instructors have completed infant, toddler and preschooler swim retraining courses, as well as having courses such as scuba diving courses, exercise with children courses, infant and toddler drowning self rescue courses, first aid courses, lifeguard and water rescue courses and many more. Their many years of experience with children, from the very young to preschoolers, guarantees the highest quality services in the industry. This fact is confirmed, among other things, by the positive reviews of our former and current clients.
We strive to ensure that not only our approach to swimmers is of a high standard, but also that the Club’s facilities are of a consistently top quality. In the past period Bublinka has therefore received a major renovation, upgrading the pool and other parts of the premises. We hope that our efforts to modernize, will make not only us happy, but especially you – our members. As we are moving with the times, we have launched a new website and you can find us on Facebook and also on Instagram.
At the same time, we would like to thank all our clients for the goodwill and trust they have shown and continue to show us throughout the entire period of our operation. Trust that we will continue to offer you the best quality services and we look forward to you leaving us with a good feeling and a smile on your face after every lesson. As well as with lots of unforgettable experiences.
for the whole Klub Bublinka team,
Why is infant swimming so popular?
Baby swimming has become part of the healthy lifestyle of many families. Primarily, infant swimming is about children acquiring basic habits when they come into contact with water and not being afraid of it. It is a training of motor skills, strengthening health and it also contributes significantly to the social aspect – deepening the relationship between the child and the parent and between the child and other children. When swimming in the infant and toddler courses, the child is in close contact with the parent attending the course with him/her. The child feels very strongly that he or she can rely on the parent. This creates a very intimate and strong relationship between them. Swimming ensures active movement and teaches children to feel physical movement as something indispensable and useful. Swimming also brings joy, increases self-confidence and is an ideal way of active rest and relaxation. Swimming benefits not only healthy children, but also children with physical or mental disabilities.
The purpose of organized swimming for infants, toddlers and preschoolers is primarily to build a positive relationship with water so that the child enjoys movement and at the same time develops a healthy respect for this environment.
Our experienced instructors supervise safety, provide a program appropriate to the age, physical and mental level of the children, help solve individual problems and provide expert advice so that the stay in the water becomes a pleasant experience for both the child and the parents.
When to start swimming in the Klub Bublinka?
At Bublinka we focus on swimming for children from birth to preschool age. For the very youngest we offer so-called „bathing“. This is suitable for children after about 4 weeks after birth (the child can start to get acquainted with the water environment as soon as his belly button heals). We also offer a salt water option for baths.
Swimming for babies and toddlers in the pool is taught at our club from about 5 months of age. Swimming is based on motor development. It starts in the supine position, this position is the most natural for the child. After mastering the first upright position, we move to the tummy position. The lessons are accompanied by word and movement puns, games, rhymes, songs, various water toys and special swimming aids for children. But it is not just about playing in the water, the child also learns through play.
Diving and plunging – this causes a feeling of fear for the child in many mothers, whether it is necessary, whether the child will not drink too much water underwater, etc. We teach our swimmers to dive using the so-called alphabet of diving, where they gradually learn to hold their breath during several lessons and home „training“, based on the pronunciation of a signal followed by pouring water over the baby. Only after safely mastering the breath hold, the child can boldly dive. So there’s no need to be afraid. 🙂
The diving itself is very attractive to the eye of the adult observer, but should not be the primary goal of „teaching“. Children should definitely not be forced into diving – a crying baby does not belong underwater.
Individually we can also offer lessons for older children, to improve their style, help them avoid mistakes and possibly help them allay fears of the water and of the swimming.
