About us
Dear Parents,
in September 2025, we proudly launched the 18th season of swimming activities in our club. The club facilities, located in a private house in Prague 6, were originally established in 2007 to support parent–child swimming activities and underwent a complete renovation in July 2022.
Club members have access to a 4 × 7 meter swimming pool with a depth of 130 cm and salt water heated to 31 °C, a fully equipped reception area, a playroom for children’s acclimatization, and a café space designed for relaxation. The playroom can also be used outside of swimming hours for club gatherings at no additional cost. A designated stroller parking space is available right at the club entrance, including the option to borrow a lock.
At Klub Bublinka, we value a personal approach and a family-friendly atmosphere. Our aim is to ensure that every member feels comfortable and at ease, and that spending time in the club becomes a pleasant and enriching part of their day.
Our instructors are members of a dedicated team who have completed specialized training and courses in working with children in aquatic environments, including first aid certification. They have many years of experience in leading swimming activities for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
We continuously strive to maintain a high standard of safety and comfort in our facilities. Renovations and ongoing improvements are part of our long-term commitment to creating a welcoming and well-maintained environment for our members.
We sincerely thank all our members for their trust and support. We are grateful to continue offering an experience that brings joy to both children and parents. We look forward to creating more wonderful moments and a warm atmosphere together.
On behalf of the Klub Bublinka team,
Daniela Nováková
Why is infant swimming so popular?
Infant swimming has become a valued part of a healthy lifestyle for many families. Its primary goal is to help children develop basic comfort and habits around water, and most importantly – to ensure they are not afraid of it.
Through gentle, age-appropriate exercises, children develop movement skills, strengthen their immune systems, and benefit from the social aspects of swimming – including building a strong bond between parent and child, as well as interactions with other children.
During infant and toddler swimming lessons, the child is in close contact with a parent, who actively participates in the activity. This close physical and emotional presence helps the child feel safe and secure, and strengthens the sense of mutual trust and connection.
Swimming encourages healthy physical activity and teaches children to view movement as something natural and enjoyable. Beyond physical benefits, swimming brings joy, boosts confidence, and serves as an ideal form of active rest and relaxation.
Importantly, swimming is beneficial not only for healthy children, but also for those with physical or developmental disabilities.
When to start swimming at Klub Bublinka?
As part of Klub Bublinka’s activities, we offer swimming programs for children from birth up to preschool age. For our youngest members, we provide the opportunity to take part in what we call “baby bathing” sessions — a gentle water familiarization program suitable from approximately the 4th week of life (once the umbilical cord has healed). This can also be done in a saltwater environment.
Swimming activities for infants and toddlers in the pool typically begin around 5 months of age. Our approach is based on the child’s natural motor development. We start with back-floating, which is instinctively comfortable for small children. Once the child begins to hold their head up, we gradually introduce tummy-down positions. Sessions are accompanied by rhymes, songs, movement games, water toys, and age-appropriate floatation aids and tools.
An optional part of the program includes gradual water adaptation and gentle introduction to underwater submersion. We understand this aspect may be a concern for some parents, which is why it is included only when the child is calm, comfortable, and ready. Children are gently introduced to the “diving alphabet” — a step-by-step process of becoming accustomed to water and practicing brief breath-holding. Only after these steps are mastered will a child try short, safe submersions.
Please note that submersion is not the main goal of our program. It is offered only if the child is completely relaxed and well-prepared. Children are never forced underwater.
Individually we can also offer programs for older children, to improve their style, help them avoid mistakes and possibly help them allay fears of the water and of the swimming.
